It is more catastrophic when you have prepared because lets face it even the job of a permanent secretary is not permanent. You will either resign, retire or be retrenched.

REFLECTION

Science defines the word 'REFLECTION' as the action or process of sending back light, heat, sound etc from a surface. Now let's look at that surface as you. Everything that you are getting in your life right now is a reflection of you. Simply put, what you are 'inside' is what you receive outside. To change the result that you are currently getting in any area of your life, you have to change what you are giving out to the universe. What are you thinking? How are you perceiving people, events, things etc? Now, Lets us look at this story for more clarity.

How to Overcome Adversity

 
We all face adversity at one point or the other in our lives. You are not alone in this. Even people who seems to look like "they have it all working out for them" face adversity in one area of life or the other at some point in their lives. Nothing can motivate a person like adversity. It all depends on your perspective. See adversity as a motivator and you will come out of it stronger and better. See it as "it was meant to kill me" and you get frustrated and depressed.

Stop the Denial

1. Most often we deny the existence of facts in our lives because of fear. We are afraid to face facts squarely thinking that something even worse will happen when we stop denying and take action. For example; your business not making enough money to meet your needs and you are already borrowing to keep the business afloat. This has been going on for the past 6 months. It's time to stop the denial and accept the facts that there is a problem and urgent help is required.

Anytime you postpone doing a task you can do now till later, it simply means you are procrastinating. Procrastination like a popular saying is the thief of time. It does not allow you to fulfil your God given talents; then afterwards you will blame every other person apart from your self for your predicament.
It is extremely difficult to be successful if you are forever putting things off. For example, what did you say to yourself ' I will start/do this month/this week? Have you started yet? If not start now and immediately. To become effective and make progress in your area of talent or responsibility, you can't spend your time on unimportant or unnecessary tasks. To get yourself doing it focus on what you will benefit if you get it done. To your success.

Why Should I Laugh?

Why should I laugh when I am busy working? Why should I laugh when I can barely feed? Why should I laugh when my spouse is not making me happy? The list go on and on. I have found out that people take themselves too seriously. I have met people in every walk of life who have too much doom and gloom in their attitudes. You need to lighten up. No matter how serious your work is, that's no reason to always carry a gloomy face.

Pay the price for a Change

There is always a price to pay for anything that is beneficial to humanity. Change which is inevitable always cost you something, if not monetrily, then in energy, time and creativity. In fact if change doesn't cost you anything, then it isn't real change!

Leading From The Center Of an Organization

It is a fact that has been proving over and over again that 99 percent of all leadership occurs not from the top but from the middle of an organization because usually an organization has only one person who is the leader, the top dog. So what do you do if you are not that one person?

Not everyone understands what it means to influence others in every direction – those you work for, the people who are on same level with you and the people who work for you. Some people are good at leading the members of their own team, but they seem to alienate the leaders in other departments of the organization. Others individuals excel at building a relationship with their boss but they have no influence with anyone below them in the organization. A few can get along with just anybody but they never seem to get any work done. On the other hand, some people are productive, but can’t get along with anybody. Only 360 degrees leaders influence people at every level of the organization. By helping others, they help themselves.

Am i Productive

If you sincerely take a personal inventory of your life now i.e physically, financially, socially, relational, economically, spiritually etc. will you say you have been productive with all that the creator has made available to you? Do you realize that you are accountable to the creator? Do you know that everyone will give account of how he has maximized every gift and talent that he has been given unto him? If you don’t realize read about the parable of the talent in the book of St. Matthew 25.

Productivity has been defined as a measure of the efficiency of a person, machine, system etc. in converting inputs into useful outputs or the state of producing something. What are you producing?  What problems are you solving? Someone will even say; what have I been given? My father never left any inheritance for me, my father never sent me to high school, my parents never established any business for me etc; that might be true but at creation you were giving the ability and power to own all these things and more. Let say something here; our lives are not defined by what we own but by what we give.

Personal Leadership

A number of years ago a quick conversation with my father had one of the greatest impact on my life. It wasn’t a big deal to him, but it was a huge deal to me.

I had just finished my Master’s Degree project. As part of that process I had to present and defend the project which included taking questions from professors and fellow students. The entire thing was fairly stressful and videotaped. I was proud of what I had accomplished and shared the video with my father.

You have the power to make things happen

One stormy evening, as the rain pours from the sky, a man notices a river of water flowing down the street from his kitchen window.

He rushes into his basement, only to realize it’s already filled with two feet of water.

“Oh no god, why me?” he mumbles to himself. “Ah, it’ll be alright. I’ve always been a faithful believer. He’ll save me.”

As the water continues to rise and reaches the ground floor, his neighbor stops by in his pick-up truck.

“This flood is going to get really bad — I highly recommend you get out of your house now. Want to come with me? I’ll give you a ride!”

“Naaah, god will save me from this.”

With a shrug, the neighbor gets into his truck and leaves. But the water continues to rise and eventually, the man has no choice but to climb on his roof and sit there.

Making The Most Of Every Opportunity

Arich man has four sons. As he grows old, he decides to give his property to the son who would value the wealth he had earned. He calls his four sons and gives them each five grains of rice. He tells them that he shall ask for these grains at the end of 5 years & he would give his property to the son who would value these grains the most.

The first son throws away the grains. He decides to show his father some other grains when he would ask for them after 5 years, in anticipation that his father would not be able to see the difference between the two sets of grains.
